Are all of us welcome at Body Positive Acupuncture?

YES, you still belong here at Body Positive Acupuncture! I treat folks with all kinds of symptoms and issues. I insist on doing so through a body-positive lens that advocates for the people in marginalized bodies.

A body-positive lens aims to heal the wounds that may have come from diet culture, weight discrimination/stigma, ageism, heterosexism, racism, classism, gender bias, a consumerist-driven society, personal and/or medical trauma, and various other factors.

Three years ago I rebranded. I was “Robin Harris Acupuncture” from 2010. At that point, I was making a fierce move. I was speaking out. I wanted to advocate for bodies that typically do not end up in your average wellness ad. I was calling advertising out. I was calling diet culture out. Why? Because intersectionality affects health outcomes. If all we see are thin white women in the wellness world; how will we know that every body belongs?

Know that you are welcome, whether you are working through any kind of symptoms. I treat folks with digestive issues, menstrual issues, back pain, headaches, menopausal issues, anxiety, depression…you name it. I am here for all of you, even though I have been doing some strong advocacy for bodies that typically get less respect in medical settings.

Please email robin@bodypositiveacupuncture.com if you have any questions about acupuncture treatment in Baltimore. If you are interested, a journey of Intuitive Eating will help you find your exit ramp from diet culture and improve your relationship with food and your body. Intuitive Eating Counseling can take place anywhere because it is virtual!
