The Mission, the Intent, the Result

I rebranded my business three years ago to put the focus where my heart is. Today I was reviewing this with some inspiring fellow business owners. It feels great to be operating under this mission statement. It feels true and it feels like it is making a difference to those under my care. I was scared to rebrand. It was one of the best decisions of my life. While I know my mission was polarizing to some, others have found the right match in care and community.

The Mission

Body Positive Acupuncture empowers patients to foster a positive relationship with their bodies. A body-positive lens aims to heal the wounds that may have come from diet culture, weight discrimination/stigma, ageism, heterosexism, racism, classism, gender bias, a consumerist-driven society, personal and/or medical trauma, and various other factors.

The Intention

The intention is for patients of Body Positive Acupuncture to know that there is an exit ramp from diet culture, that it is possible to unlearn damaging misinformation about our bodies and to trust in the body’s ability to communicate its needs.

The Result

The result is that patients will understand that their intuition is their primary care provider—they are born with it—and they can cultivate the ability to listen to and follow their intuition.
